Our MOPS group is going through a very difficult time right now.
Our Head Mentor Mom has left MOPS sponsoring church and is stepping down from her leadership position in MOPS.
She and her husband wanted to "leave quietly" but that's just not possible.
They are 2 people who are dearly loved and respected.
With their leaving will come a mass exodus whether they like it or not.
And the exodus has already begun!
Yes, the pastor made a mistake, but we're not talking adultry here.
He should have said he was sorry, but didn't ... so hurt and unforgiveness has set in and now, the messiness begins.
Now, some of the MOPS leadership has said they will no longer continue to serve on MOPS steering unless MOPS changes to another sponsoring church. YUK!
I spent 3 hours on Saturday morning with the Head Mentor Mom.
Tomorrow, I will spend another 3 hours with the new Head Mentor Mom and the coordinator to talk through what we should do.
It's a VERY messy situation which came out of nowhere. It's a huge disappointment.
My heart is heavy. I'm grieved by the way people in the church treat each other. Please pray for the people involved and the harm all this mess is causing and may further cause.
