The Olympic Mountains

The plan had been to go camping in the Nat'l Park. But long story short, we couldn't get to our storage room - which had all our camping gear. So, we set out for a long day's drive over to the Park. Thankfully, it was the perfect day for it!

We took a ferry ride ... which thrilled the kids!

We stopped in Port Angeles to see the lighthouse - which is now a Military base. So, we decided to play on the beach for awhile.

Then, we drove from sea level to 6,000 feet! We hiked up a mile to the top.

The view was amazing!!!

The hike back down.

All tuckered out, we drove back down 6,000 feet and to Kingston to catch the ferry home. As we sat in line, watching the ferry load - and watching the clock which was quickly approaching 10 o'clock - we hoped we'd get on. Amazingly -- we were the LAST car they let on! Had we not made it, we would have waited another hour or so. It was a great day!
