Breaking the Silence

I haven't been blogging. No real reason why. The hours, days and weeks just seem to fly by.

How can it possibly be the middle of March already? With the time change, it's daylight until 7:30pm now. I love that! Although it's getting harder to get the kids to bed by 8pm. And it's not even summer yet - when it's daylight until 10pm.

We are plugging right along. Our days are mostly quiet days at home. We have a few "fun" things sprinkled throughout the week.

Steve's been working at Starbucks alot. Which will shortly come to an end... as he's given his 2-week notice! Yep - he's no longer going to be slinging coffee. Next Sunday, the 22nd, is his last day.

We both know that if Enoch Hills has any chance for success, he has to give it all he's got. Something has to go - and Starbucks is that thing. But it leaves us feeling a bit uncertain -- or more like that sense that we just took a MAJOR step of faith and we hope God does something that rocks our world. Even if He should choose not to, we still welcome this season of our lives with open arms. God will use it to refine us and ultimately, use it to bring glory to Himself, however that should look.

As for the Calvary Chapel. They had their member vote 3 weeks ago. In order for them to "hire" Steve, they needed a 2/3 vote. Now, mind you, there were only 12 people present (yes, it is a VERY small church). FIVE people voted to WAIT. No one voted "no". But the 5 waits were enough to make it less than 2/3. So, we walked away from Calvary Chapel and are going back to plan A with Enoch Hills. Interestingly enough, they have invited other men to come teach and Steve just got a call last week ... asking him if he'd consider pastoring 2 churches. HA HA! We had a good laugh. But they are not anywhere close to finding a new pastor and have now realized just what a great leader they had in Steve. Two of the five "waits" have now said they wish they would have voted yes. So, before this is all over, it may come back to us. We just wait and see.

Homeschooling is going well. Shiloh is reading Dr. Seuss books like it's nobody's business. She also loves to read Toad and Frog. Landon is starting to sound out 3 and 4 letter words. We have alot of fun. Today - we had "P.E." down in the YWAM base gym - playing follow the leader, freeze tag and shooting hoops. It was fun.

Shiloh is selling chocolate bars as a fundraiser for the homeschool choir. She brought home a 1/2 case and last night, she sold 20 out of 25! Who wouldn't buy chocolate from such a cutie! ;-) We're going to get a case of 50 and let her sell more!

Whew! That's alot of stuff. I guess I should have been blogging a bit more. Sometimes I just don't know where to start. Many more thoughts are rolling around in my head. But for now, that's it. Hasta.
